Washington, DC
Our nation’s capital is a special place and we have been providing service there for over a century. With so much to see, our experienced staff willl work with you and your Scout troop to make the best use of your time in Washington. We can arrange one-day trips as well as overnight trips.

Sample THREE DAY/TWO NIGHT itinerary

Day One - Begin your visit by making your Troop’s first stop at the home of our first president, George Washington’s Mt. Vernon. The new Ford Visitor’s Center is an unprecedented introduction to the life of the “Father of our Country”. After dinner we will go on an Illuminated Tour of the Monuments with a local step-on guide.

Day Two - We can help you request appointments at some of Washington’s most notable attractions including the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, the Pentagon, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Perhaps you would want to contact your local representative for tours of the White House or the Capitol. We can arrange for an extraordinarily moving wreath-laying ceremony in Arlington Cemetery at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Guarded 24 hours a day by specially trained members of the 3rd United States Infantry, the grave stands as a collective memorial to all unidentified U.S. soldiers who lost their lives in combat. The National Zoo with its panda exhibit and Smoky the Bear is always popular with Scouts. And many Troops just like to have free time at the Smithsonian Institution with its variety of museums. Shorter stops can be made at the National Archives, the White House Visitor’s Center, or the Peterson House where President Abraham Lincoln became "one with 'the Ages”.

Day Three - On this day your Scout Troop can visit what they didn’t have time for earlier or it can include additional attractions as the Museum of the American Indian, the National Botanical Garden, the National Cathedral, or the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. Some troops even use a third day to visit Baltimore with its Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, and Ft. Mc Henry.

ONE DAY Trip

If your time is limited we can set up an itinerary that suits the specific interests and preferences of your Scout Troop. We will keep a close eye on your budget as well as your watch.

Walt Disney World
A Magic Destination for Scout Troops

"HAPPIEST CELEBRATION on EARTH"
All four Walt Disney World resort theme parks - The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, MGM Studios, and Animal Kingdom - are celebrating the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" with new attractions and shows brought to Florida from Disney Theme Parks around the world. It promises to be the largest celebration in Theme Park history.

There is only one Walt Disney World, but there are three ways to get your Scout Troop there – and DeBolt knows them all. Air, motorcoach, or Amtrak – we will discuss with you which means of transportation will work best for your Scout Troop. We know the pros and cons, the ins and outs, of not only getting to Walt Disney World, but of also making the most of your visit when there is so much to see and do. We can recommend to your Scout Troop packages that include Park-Hopper passes, accomodations, meal coupons, and visits to the beach as well as transportation. We can even show you how to include the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah on your way to Walt Disney World.

IMAX Theater
Skylon Observation Deck
the Whirlpool Aero Car
Ft. Niagara
the Robert Moses Power Plant
Clifton Hill with unbelivable sights and sounds and fun
On the way to or from your home town your Troop could also navigate the highest locks on the Erie Canal, visit the wonder of the Herschel Carousel Factory, and swim or get soaked at Splash Lagoon. Meals would also be included.

Chicago – Museums and Magnificence
Scout Troop Options

Chicago is a favorite destination among Scout Troops for several reasons:

A. Reasonable Hotel Rates - Chicago is known for its conventions. However, when there are no conventions in town, rates can drop by more than 60%.

B. Amtrak schedule – Chicago's Union Station is Amtrak's biggest national hub. Their schedule is designed to enable Scout Troops to arrive in Chicago early in the morning, tour all day, spend the night, tour the next day, and return that evening. Sleeping on the train’s comfortable Coach seats in both directions maximizes the time your Scout Troop can spend in Chicago.

C. The City that Works! Everything in Chicago is close, either within walking distance or via a quick bus ride. Small groups can visit all of the attractions without having to pay for their own private vehicle.

D. Unique in the World - Where else in the world can you find the Hemisphere's tallest building with its gravity defying LEDGE, the largest Natural History Museum, unparalled cuisine, a coal mine, bold architecture, the "Rock 'n Roll McDonald's" and the world's largest reflective "bean"?

Three Day Itinerary

Day One - After arriving by motorcoach, plane, or train head for the hemisphere's tallest building (the Willis (formerly Sears)) Tower for a truly awesome view of the city you’re about to discover.

Day Two - After breakfast, Scouts can take a “City Highlights” tour before visiting the Museum of Science and Industry. Scouts will go to Navy Pier and enjoy the many activities concentrated in this unique complex.

Day Three - More highlights today as your Scouts visit the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum of Natural History. If time permits, you may have time for some browsing and shopping along the world-famous Magnificent Mile before leaving for home.

Amtrak Two day Special!

Day One - Morning arrival in Chicago. Use your CTA Pass for transportation around Chicago to visit the Willis Tower, Musuem of Science and Industry, Field Musuem, Navy Pier, and much more! This evening take a cruise on Lake Michigan and the Chicago River.

Day Two - Shop all along the Magnificent Mile or visit what you missed the first day. In the evening board Amtrak for the trip home.

Please contact our office for details.

New York City
Two Scout Troop Sample Tours

New York is indeed the Crossroads of the World and we have the experience to help your Troop make the most of its time there.

One Day Trip
If your Troop is nearby, you can go to New York for the day to catch a Broadway Show. And your Troop has a choice of shows that is unprecedented: Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella, Matilda, Wicked, The Lion King, just to name a few. Begin by entering New York by Sea, a special DeBolt Unlimited offering. Walk through the Canyon of Heroes to the Essex World Cafe and the best meal value in Manhattan.  After lunch you’ll have time to shop at Macy’s or visit Times Square or Rockefeller Center before your matinee performance. We recommend dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, the Playwright Tavern or Justin Timberlake's Southern Hospitality before returning home.

Three-day trip
The more time your Troop has, the more you get to see.

Day One - Upon arriving in Manhattan, get to know the city by going to the Top of the Rock for an unequaled view. Back at ground level your Scout Troop will go behind the scenes at radio City Music Hall.  Then it’s off to Ellen’s Stardust Diner for fun, singing waiters, and good food. After dinner explore Times Square with its M&M’s Store, Hershey place, and the incredible world of Toy’s R Us with its indoor Ferris wheel.

Day Two - Start this morning by going to see – and be seen on - either The Today Show or Good Morning America. A comprehensive tour of Manhattan is a good way to see a lot of the city in a brief period of time. The afternoon can be spent visiting the Scout National Headquarters, the Museum of Natural History, the United Nations, or just shopping.

Day Three - Board the very first ferry to Liberty Island.  Upon landing there you will continue to the Pedestal Monument for the story of Lady Liberty and an unequaled view of New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline.  After arriving back at the Battery you'll take the short walk to the WTC Tribute Center a memorial created by the Foundation of 9/11 Families.  After lunch at the Essex World Cafe you can visit the Memorial Plaza located on the footprint of the twin towers.

Among other features you can include are:
American Girl Place
Metropolitan Museum of Art
Macy's
St. Patrick's Cathedral

As with all DeBolt Unlimited Scout trips, this tour can be modified or expanded to suit your Troop's interests and preferences. Contact our office toll-free for details (1-800-433-2658)

Boston and New England
Day One - Your Scout Troop travels to a hotel in a Boston suburb. On the way you’ll stop at Mystic Seaport

Day Two - After breakfast your Scout Troop will explore Boston the Cradle of America’s Independence. Activities will include an escorted walk on The Freedom Trail, an overview of the city from the Prudential Center’s Skywalk, a land and water tour on the Boston Ducks, dinner at Cheers, and a presentation of “Paul Revere Tonight “ at the Old North Church.

Option Northeast: Head for Salem, the home of the infamous “witchhunts” of 1692 and visit the House of the Seven Gables and the Witch Dungeon Museum. Then it’s off to Cape Ann where a local guide will acquaint your Troop with this region of hearty fishermen spotlighted in “The Perfect Storm”. Scouts will then participate in a genuine New England Lobster Bake in the homeport of so many “Captains Courageous”.

Optional Day Five: Scouts can extend their trip an additional day to include both the Northeast and Southeast options on Days Two and Three and coming home on Day Five.
